Kaikōmako

Whakamārama

He rākau whāiti noa te tupu. He mā, he kakara ngā pua, he pango ngā hua rākau. He tino kai nā te korimako.

Scope Note

A slender tree with fragrant white flowers and black fruit which are the favourite food of the korimako/bellbird. The wood was used with māhoe for making fires. Pennantia corymbosa.
