Taiaha

Whakamārama:

He momo rākau nā Tū. He rākau roa, he whāiti te rau, ka kāwitiwiti ki te arero. He huruhuru kurī, huruhuru manu rānei te tauri kei te arero.

Scope Note:

A fighting staff with one end shaped like an arero/tongue, and the other as a blade. The arero end is often ornamented with a tauri/woven band of feathers or dog hair.
