Taro

Whakamārama:

He hua whenua i heria mai i Hawaiiki. He rarahi ngā rau, ko te pūtake he tino kai nā ngā iwi katoa o ngā moutere o Te Moana nui-a-Kiwa.

Scope Note:

Introduced by Māori for the edible rootstock. Now an important vegetable for Polynesian communities. Colocasia esculenta.
